Iago at a Glance
Iago Rodriguez Paulino, 23, is a composer based in Boston, Massachusetts. His music for media is recognized for its versatility, vivid orchestral writing, and strong sense of storytelling. Drawing from both traditional orchestration and modern sound design, his work blends acoustic instruments with synthesizers and textural elements to create distinctive musical worlds for film, games, and immersive experiences. His writing often incorporates influences from global musical traditions, reflecting a particular interest in culturally diverse sonic palettes and cross-cultural storytelling.
His recent work includes orchestrating a piece premiered by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Sphinx Organization, with additional performances scheduled by major ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Alongside his composing work, his background in orchestration, score preparation, and conducting allows him to collaborate effectively with ensembles and recording sessions.
During his time at Berklee College of Music, Iago served as President of the Society of Composers, assembling and conducting a 100+ player orchestra and choir, the largest student-organized ensemble in the school’s history. His work has been recognized through several honors, including winning Ubisoft’s 2025 Film & Game Scoring Challenge and receiving Berklee’s Doug Timm Award and Charlie Parker Scholarship. He completed a double major in Film Scoring and Composition with minors in Video Game Scoring and Conducting, graduating summa cum laude.
Perhaps most important, Iago’s music seeks to tell human stories—the stories of an increasingly diverse world, seen through the lens of a composer driven by curiosity and collaboration.
